Think Art and all things creative and fun!

My latest acrylic painting of a wolf in a landscape of snow. It is also my biggest work yet, as I went to a hardware store to come by the board. I believe it to be my best painting to date, although my art teacher differs.he he. It was a lot of hard work and patience, but it was all worth it in the end. Wolf reference from a national geographic photo, and the landscape from the internet.

This is my final painting from "colour me happy". I had a bit of trouble with the landscape but I think it didn't end up too badly. The green happy yellowish colours combined with her red top I think contrast effectively with her sad and depressed pose. Thus, "Colour me happy"

Well, yes, another self portrait with the theme "Colour me happy" is comming up. I just took the photo really for now and have started layering in the lines of the painting. They say that my most successful works so far have been self portraits, so my plan is to take a very sad picture and colour it, well "Happy" with bright uplifting colours and a sad subject to contradict it.

My design for the wearable art sculpture we had to make. "Pool wear" he he... I used wire to bind pool pipes together and made a top out of pool acid bottels and ribbon.
(Yes, yes.... not the best picture of me but hey! its the sculpture that counts!

This is a piece of cloth that I had to paint for a child's school project. I was actually free to do anything really. The child is three. :-D

Well here is the A1 drawing I did for my June Art Practical exam. It is done in charcoal and pit and took about 5 and a half hours to complete. As I said in a previous post, it is not one of my best works and the contrast can be boosted slightly (perhaps I shall do that later this year) but I can admit that I am proud of how the leaves and rose turned out. That was hard Work!!

well my exams are over (have been for a while now) but I had no time so far to take a photo of my Exam drawing. Wasn't the best drawing ever but I tried... It was applicable to how I was feeling at that moment in time. It is A1 in size and doing drawings of that size usually stress me out as I prefer painting. Here so long though is the photo I took in reference to the drawing. I shall try to post the drawing itself tomorrow if I can.

Well, the one above is a drawing I did earlier this year, and I did have some fun playing with the textures etc. for those that cannot see, it is a slice, haphazardly placed, accidental-like photograph of a teddy bear, a sword and a cowboy hat. I take the photos of my paintings and drawings (mostly) myself, to avoid plagarism and so that my work is original. :-D

This was the spontanious picture I decided to paint.

Quite a bit more colour in the picture inspired by the Impressionists and post impressionists I painted this scene at my school although its not quite the same. I'm happy with the result although the photo's not all that great. Enjoy

Hmmm... long time no post!

No I haven't been lagging or lazy or what not... Grade 11 is just no picnic! Nope none at all... and having my birthday in the mean time, I feel quite accomplished! Art wise? Well, I haven't been completely inactive... I was walking through my school the other day, later afternoon, and saw for what suddenly seemed the first time the beautiful bright colours Autumn had to offer me. I asked myself... Wouldn't it be wonderful to just sit here and paint these colours?! And so I did. It is not yet finished... quite a rough painting, but it offered me a freedom and stress relief that I hadn't had in a long time! I'll post it when I'm satisfied... but in the mean time, here are some Autumn pic from http://www.coolphotos.de/phps/show_e.php?id=23&kat=herbstfotos to give you some idea of how I saw that autumn scene... sort of... :-)

Cheers! Enjoy life!

My previous post's photo now transformed into a painting

My next painting idea; the theme of which is any teen issue or teen life in 2007
My painting is kind of leaving the viewer with something to think about, you don't know why the girl is looking towards the door with terror in her eye and that leaves the viewer with something to think about. I couldn't actually find a picture like that so I made one with my own trustworthy digital camera. Hope the painting will look the way I want it to in the end...

Well heres an image I drew one night out of boredom on a clean piece of printing paper in black ballpoint pen. I'm quite proud of the results!
Well, apart from that I hope everyone had a good holiday and are ready to enter a brand new year in which so much work and toil needs to be put up with. Peace be with you.
