Memories... and boy I have a lot! This painting is the conclusion to my art and my school career, summing up my life up until now. In it, I have created the "clock" of my life, featuring my face as the clock face. The outside seems plain and simple. A normal clock. when the cupboard is opened however, you can see my diaries since I was thirteen, a teddy that is significant to me, and photos as well as extracts from my diaries. This sums up my life and my good times as well as bad.

I think that this work is a fabulous round up to my school career and all my memories. :P


With the theme "Life" I managed to gain inspiration from the South African Artist Dianne Victor and create a life-size horse. This I did in acrylic paint. My second last artwork for school :)


He He! wow! gets worse and worse don't it? Sorry for the long absence, but this term, as the last, was really hectic work wise! This was done on the theme "gender issues" against which I protested in saying that men and women were meant to be as one and not fight one another. I demonstrate this with the love of the aged and how they complete one another like a circle, seamless and perfect in "Turning Heads", done on a round piece of hard board

Well, sorry it took so long to be posted... here it is though. Me posing as a Salvador Dali painting for my artwork. All I can say was that it was cold, and my arm was pretty sore having to be suspended in the air for a length of time, but my artwork was successful and worth it!

With influences from Kentrige, I have done a quick charcoal animation on a rat. It is 50 drawn pictures in total, some are looped and I am quite proud of what I have done. It is part of a project on multimedia due for the 5th of May, in which I am also going to be doing performance art, in reposing as a Salvador Dali panting. more on that on the 5th.


This was my exam painting done in response to the work load (as well as load shedding) experienced by many during the first term of our matric year. It features no one in particular, who drifted into the sweet sugar of dream while doing her homework. So fast asleep is she that she doesn't even notice the curious rat sneaking up for a closer peek at her. The rat once again is symbolic in my matric year and represents me.


This theme was for social commentary and my protest or comment against the way that they treat girls who have dyed their hair. My statement in this painting is this; would it be more supportive and acceptable to the "proudly green" theme of the school if we dyed our hair green as well? Three parts that are considered as one painting.
note that my rat is once again present in the work.


Long time no posting hey! It's been this long because people weren't kidding me when they said that matric was a lot of work! I've been going mad with stress for all the work that needed to be done.

But here is my first drawing for the term, a theme for "who am I as a South African" and I have depicted myself as a rat. a quote from Seabiscut will justify or at least clarify this thought pattern a little bit. "Though he be small, he be fierce!" Rats have such negative connotations to them and are often seen as the bearers of bad news, but this is not my intention. The rats are misplaced and don't belong next to this basket of plums in a kitchen, and I suppose that is how I feel a lot of the time. I don't seem to fit in. Only other rats accept who I am, and by rats I mean understanding people.
